  • L-Proline

Proline is an amino acid found mainly in meat which, in certain conditions, is synthesized by the body. Proline is the only precursor of hydroxyproline, an essential component in the production of collagen, the cement which holds together the skin, cartilage, ligaments, tendons and arteries.

L-proline plays a role in reducing the effects of atherosclerosis, a condition in which fatty material, such as cholesterol, collects along your arterial walls. This material can thicken and can eventually block your arteries, increasing your risk of heart disease or stroke.
